Jersey Knit Embellishing Workshop / Demo
Dana Olsen will offer a demo and assist participants to embellish a t-shirt or other knit garment using jersey knit materials. This is a hand-sewing project that uses applique, reverse applique, and other embellishments applied to cotton jersey garments. Cotton jersey knit fabrics are soft and resistant to fraying, making them ideal for applique design. Familiarity with basic hand-sewing techniques is helpful.
Participants should bring: a T-shirt or other similar knit garments that they are interested in embellishing. The optional materials to bring are scrap T-shirts for the design, needles, thread, embroidery floss, and sharp scissors for cutting knit fabrics. The Sewing Lab will have some of these optional materials available.
