Welcome

The Makery is a member based Makerspace collaborative for people to imagine, experiment, network, collaborate and create for personal and professional growth.

We operate within the Adult Education Department of Hannaford Career Center, utilizing its building and equipment to encourage technical and creative entrepreneurship in Addison County.

The Makery is back for in person labs!

Both the Sewing and Woodworking Labs are meeting in person. Pre-registration is required for all labs.

This week's demo: Jelly Roll Quilt Top or Mile a Minute quilt

Make a scrappy quilt top using a Jelly Roll (20-40 – 2.5” strips cut the width of the fabric), it is easy, fast and fun!

    • 2.5” wide precut fabric strips (commonly known as a jelly roll)
    • A jelly roll is made up of 40 – 2.5” wide and ~42” long strips, cut the width of the fabric.
    • A smaller size top can be made with 20 strips (JoAnn’s rolls have 20) by adding some borders would make up a lap quilt.

The sewing lab is available for you to work on your own projects as well, and the mentors look forward to assisting you.

    Suggestions are always welcome!
